Leather Handbag – Mongi

 The Mongi bag is the first in our range of genuine leather formal handbags, and is named after the leather crafter Justice’s oldest daughter, Mongi! 

The leather handbag is made from veg tan leather, is laser cut, and then hand stitched. It closes with a magnetic closure and comes with a detachable strap, making it possible to also use as a clutch bag.

Leather is locally sourced in South Africa and vegetable-tanned. Vegetable tanning is the oldest and most natural form of processing leather using tannins from tree bark and plants rather than harsh chemicals. The end product is durable leather that lasts longer and is fully biodegradable. The hides used are byproducts of the food industry giving life to an otherwise unused component.
